PARQUET “PERSIST BY ACCIDENT.”

 

This series take the inspiration from the Chinese traditional handicraft art - Parquet. The artisan used to inlay different wood blocks or metal battens in a whole entire art craft, furnishing or building by accurate polish and deliberate calculate.

 

This ancient installation is a very intriguing topic because it is a beginning of conflict, when two waves of innovation crash together, people always can get the spark from different combination, like the east and the west, the old and the new, beautifully carved screen from orient and the accurate equestrian equipment from the west, or even the Zen of oriental Buddhist and astronomy from western modern time.
